Coach Agreement - HCHA

Highland Central Hockey Association Coach Agreement

I understand that if I am selected to be a coach (either the Head Coach or an Assistant Coach), I understand and agree as follows:

• I will read the HCHA Coaches Manual.  I understand and accept my Duties and Responsibilities as set forth in the Manual.  I will abide by the guidelines in the Coaches Manual and by all HCHA rules and policies.
• I understand that as a Coach, I have the freedom to run the team, but I will comply with the sprit and letter of the rules, policies and guidelines established by Minnesota Hockey, the League our team plays in, and HCHA.
• I will respect my fellow coaches and work together in a cooperative manner. I will not criticize fellow coaches in front of players or parents.
• I will keep my relationship with parents strictly professional.  I understand that a Coach should be available to discuss any problems with players and/or parents, keeping in mind that my prime responsibility is to the whole team and not to any one individual.
• I will meet the general and basic expectations of HCHA's skill and/or system level development plans as set forth for my team's age level.
• I will attend mandatory coaches meetings and clinics when requested, including District Coaches meetings.
• I will see that there is no abusive language or profanity in the locker room, on the bench, or on the ice by coaches or players.
• I will work closely with the other coaches on my team to ensure that unused ice is returned to the HCHA Ice Scheduler in a timely manner.
• I understand that the team is made up of all the players selected, and that the game is for the players.
• I will follow the philosophy of the HCHA that all players receive equal playing opportunity over the course of the season.
• I understand I will be required to give permission for a criminal background check to be done.
• I certify that the information I have provided in my application is true and complete.  I acknowledge that the information presented during the entire selection process is absolutely true and accurate.  I authorize investigation of all statements contained in my application for coaching, as they may be necessary in arriving at an acceptance decision. 
  
• In the event of acceptance, I understand that false or misleading information given in my application or interview(s) may result in non-acceptance or termination. 
  
• I also understand that I am required to abide by all rules and regulations of the Highland Central Hockey Association. 
  
• I understand and agree that I am subject to dismissal from my assigned coaching position if my conduct is deemed to be inconsistent with the HCHA's mission.
